Codes before Code.

So… Kings, Queens, Presidents, CEOs and business owners have been hiring Artists to broadcast their brand and sell products to the public at large. Great! Now, what about the regular folks who have something to say, but don’t have the means to reach a broad audience? 

The answer: they piggyback!

Centuries before it could be made from computer code, art contained codes of its own. Artists have inserted messages and symbols in their work for as long as history can tell. Those cheeky Easter eggs, although sometimes funny, often contained messages or warnings to future generations.

Whether or not Leonardo da Vinci hid codes in his paintings as suggested in some best-selling books, Artists did (and still do) insert coded messages in their work… often to be decoded only years, decades or centuries later!
